Bengaluru, May 25 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Centre over rising fuel prices, alleging that repeated hikes in petrol, diesel and LPG rates were "looting" common citizens and worsening inflationary pressure on households.

Addressing a press conference, Siddaramaiah said frequent revisions in fuel prices over the past few weeks had placed an additional financial burden on salaried employees, farmers and middle-class families.

He said the impact of rising fuel costs was being felt across sectors, particularly in transport and essential commodities.
