Bengaluru, March 22 -- A simmering clash has surfaced between Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Congress high command over the nomination of Samarth, son of Cabinet Minister SS Mallikarjun and grandson of late Shamnur Shivashankarappa, for the Davangere South bypoll.

Siddaramaiah reportedly opposed the move, warning against the concentration of power within political families, a stance that some party insiders said was ignored by the high command.
