Mumbai, Nov. 5 -- The Maharashtra Police today sacked suspended Sub Inspector Gopal Badane in a major fallout from the Satara doctor suicide case which put the spotlight on alleged harassment of government medical officers and political pressure to issue false medical certificates.
In a suicide note written on her palm, Dr Sampada Munde posted at the Phaltan sub- district hospital had alleged rape and mental harassment by the PSI as well as political pressure besides intimidation by a civilian.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had recently directed the state DGP to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by a woman police officer to conduct a detailed probe.
