Kolkata, Aug. 4 -- The West Bengal government may soon honour the legendary voice that has awakened generations of Bengalis on Mahalaya.

On the 121st birth anniversary of Birendra Krishna Bhadra, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister Agnimitra Paul on Tuesday said she would urge Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari to rename the Shyambazar Metro station after him and declare his home a heritage site.

Paying tribute at Bhadra's ancestral home on Ramdhan Mitra Lane in North Kolkata, Paul said she would place before the Chief Minister three proposals to commemorate the legendary broadcaster.
