Kolkata, June 23 -- West Bengal on Tuesday paid homage to nationalist leader Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his 74th Martyrdom Day with floral tributes, and blood donation camps.
In the state Assembly, legislators observed a minute's silence as a mark of respect to Mookerjee, who played a stellar role in maintaining India's unity and the creation of West Bengal.
In the morning, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, state BJP President Samik Bhattacharya and party seniors offered floral tributes at the bust of the renowned educationist-politician at the Keoratala Crematorium.
