Mathura, Aug. 8 -- A planned religious gathering involving a "Kar Seva" at the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi site in Mathura has been postponed, with authorities tightening security in the area ahead of the event date, officials and religious leaders said on Friday.
Saints, prominent figures, and religious leaders unanimously took this decision at an important brainstorming meeting held in Lalit Kunj, Goshala Nagar, on Friday night.
Instead of the Kar Seva, only a grand yagna, havan-puja, and other Vedic rituals will be held on Sunday.
The "Kar Seva", or religious service, had been scheduled for Aug. 9 to press for the "liberation" of the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi site.
