Chennai, Sept. 29 -- A key data analysed by the Public Health department has revealed a startling and disturbing trend -- more men are dying in Tamil Nadu than women with the disparity widest among those aged between 15 and 64 with the PMK attributing it to alcohol consumption and batted for total prohibition in the state.
Studies have revealed that in Tamil Nadu, male deaths exceeded female deaths by 1.10 lakh in 2025, and 86% of the additional male deaths were among those in the 15-64 age group when many are working, raising children and taking care of ageing parents.
The gap between male and female deaths has stayed above the one lakh mark in the past three yers -- 1.10 lakh, 1.07 lakh and 1.11 lakh, in 2023, 2024 and 2025 respectively...
