Bengaluru, March 17 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar will be in New Delhi on Tuesday to meet Members of Parliament from the State and press for the clearance of key irrigation projects pending with the Central Government.
His visit comes at a crucial time, as Karnataka seeks to address objections raised by Andhra Pradesh over the Upper Krishna Project (UKP) and secure the Centre's support for its timely implementation.
Speaking to reporters, he said several key irrigation proposals from the state have been awaiting approvals, clearances, and financial support from the Centre for a long time, impacting farmers and water resource management.
