Bengaluru, Nov. 20 -- Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's remarks hinting that he may step down as Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president on Thursday triggered fresh political buzz within the ruling Congress in the state.
However, Shivakumar has ruled out any possibility of an imminent resignation.
Shivakumar, who has held the KPCC post for more than five years, said at a party event that he "cannot hold the post permanently" and that "others should be given an opportunity". He added that he would continue to remain part of the party's frontline leadership even if relieved of the organisational role.
