Mumbai, April 22 -- Several leaders from the Shiv Sena (Thackeray faction) have reportedly begun lobbying at Matoshree for a Legislative Council ticket, in case party chief Uddhav Thackeray decides not to contest the upcoming election.
Among the prominent aspirants are party spokesperson Sushma Andhare, leader Vaibhav Naik, and former Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve.
There is still uncertainty over whether Uddhav Thackeray will contest the Legislative Council election again. If he enters the fray, the election is likely to be uncontested. However, if he opts out, there is a possibility that the ruling Mahayuti alliance may field an additional candidate, making the contest more competitive.
