Mumbai, Nov. 14 -- Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Milind Deora asserted that the people of Mumbai favour a change of guard in the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (MMC), the largest municipal corporation in India, and accused the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction of using the MMC to benefit wealthy contractors.
Speaking after a high-level meeting led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deora said the discussions focused on taking a positive agenda directly to the public.
He said, "The Mumbai Municipal Corporation is the largest municipal corporation in India. It is unfortunate that for the past 30 years, the way in which the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction has used the MMC has been only for rich contractors....
