Ch. Sambhajinagar, May 18 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) workers staged a road blockade agitation on the Samruddhi Expressway at the Vaijapur interchange in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district on Monday, demanding fair prices for onions and accusing the government of neglecting farmers' issues.
The protest was led by Ambadas Danve, during which a large number of Shiv Sainiks gathered on the expressway and raised slogans against the government.
During the agitation, protesters burnt tyres on the Samruddhi Expressway and temporarily disrupted vehicular movement. Several demonstrators were seen wearing garlands made of onions as a mark of protest against the falling onion prices.
