Mumbai/New Delhi, July 14 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met union Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Tuesday to discuss technical matters related to the merger of six rebel Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena MPs who defected and switched sides recently as part of 'Operation Tiger', besides a union cabinet reshuffle or expansion which is on the cards, sources said.

If Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla okays the merger of the six rebel Uddhav Thackeray-led Sena Lok Sabha MPs with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, the Shinde-led Sena's strength in the Lok Sabha will increase to 13 MPs.

With more MPs, sources said that at least one of the six defectors will be rewarded with a ministerial position.
