Thane, June 27 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced plans for a significant memorial dedicated to his political mentor, the late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe, in the heart of Thane city. Shinde announced his plans on Thursday evening while inaugurating various municipal projects. The centrepiece, named the Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Tower, will be reconstructed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan near Talao Pali in old Thane. The memorial will feature a towering 43-metre structure housing a king-size statue of Dighe.
