Shimla, July 19 -- This Raj day Town once celebrated as the cleanest city in Himachal Pradesh, has slipped to third place in the state and plummeted to 347th position nationally in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 rankings.

The Queen of Hills, renowned for its scenic beauty, has been overtaken by Theog and Nadaun, exposing persistent civic issues, unplanned construction activities, and mismanaged waste disposal.

The city's fall in rankings is attributed to the lack of vision among successive governments-be it the former BJP regime or the present Congress-led Municipal Corporation.
