Shimla, Feb. 26 -- Shimla district police on Thursday successfully traced and recovered a missing 17-year-old boy from Chandigarh following swift action based on social media monitoring and technical analysis.
According to police, the minor was later handed over to his family after completion of legal formalities.
The case was registered at Dhalli police station, Shimla, in Himachal Pradesh on February 21, 2026, under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, after a complaint was filed by Ritik, a resident of Bhattakufar.
According to the complainant, his 17-year-old brother, a Class 12 student at a government school, had left home for school on February 21, but failed to reach the institution.
