Shimla, Feb. 23 -- Shimla Police have arrested two absconding assailants within 48 hours of a gruesome murder in the Chirgaon area of the district.

The accused, Lalit Rana alias Laxman Rana (20) and Shahbir Luvar (21), both natives of Jajarkot district, Nepal, were arrested from Kasol in Kullu district on Monday. They were tracked through leads provided by technical surveillance and digital evidence.

The case pertains to the murder of Rakesh Pratap (36), a Nepal-origin labourer, whose body was found on February 18 near the banks of the Pabbar River. He had suffered fatal head injuries from a sharp-edged weapon, and his hands and feet were tied.
