Shimla, Oct. 28 -- The Shimla Nagrik Sabha (SNS) has urged the Himachal Pradesh Government and the Shimla Municipal Corporation to take immediate action on the Supreme Court's directives regarding the management of stray dogs.
In a joint press statement issued today, SNS President Jagmohan Thakur and Secretary Vivek Kashyap expressed concern over the state's failure to comply with the apex court's order dated August 22, 2025. The Supreme Court had directed all Chief Secretaries, including that of Himachal Pradesh, to ensure mandatory sterilization and anti-rabies vaccination of stray dogs and to submit detailed compliance affidavits.
