Shillong, March 13 -- Voicing concern over the vandalization of the Tura Jama Masjid during the recent violence in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district, the Shillong Muslim Forum (SMF) on Friday appealed to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma to ensure the protection of all places of worship and minorities in the state.
In a letter to Sangma, SMF President Josimuddin Ahmed and Secretary Rehan Warjri urged the government to take appropriate steps to prevent such incidents from recurring, while continuing efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the region.
