Dharamshala, Nov. 4 -- Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa has announced a new initiative under which women from self-help groups (SHGs) will be trained as tourist guides to promote tourism and enhance the visitor experience at the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly complex in Tapovan. Necessary directions have already been issued to officials for implementation.
Presiding over a review meeting on various developmental works yesterday, DC Bairwa said that the state government has opened the Tapovan Assembly complex to tourists to encourage tourism in the region. Suitable spaces have also been allotted to SHGs to sell their locally made products. The SHGs will also assist in managing tourist movement and providing guidance to visitors.
