New York, Sept. 7 -- American eighth seed Ben Shelton powered past Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets to storm into the US Open quarterfinals, keeping alive home hopes of ending a 23-year wait for a men's singles champion.
Shelton produced a commanding display under the lights at Arthur Ashe Stadium, dispatching the Greek former world No. 3 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 to seal his place in the last eight.
