Dhaka, July 27 -- Bangladesh prosecutors have formally charged Sheikh Hasina, two journalists and 38 others, in connection with a 2013 crackdown on a rally organised by the Islamist group Hefajat-e-Islam at Dhaka's Shapla Chattar, in which 58 people are alleged to have been killed.
The charge sheet, submitted on Monday to the country's so-called International Crimes Tribunal, names Farzana Rupa, a former principal correspondent and presenter at Ekattor TV, and Mozammel Babu, the channel's founder and former editor-in-chief.
The two journalists were arrested on May 14 in the case, which involves allegations of crimes against humanity.
