Kolkata, May 4 -- In a significant shift in vote share, early trends in the West Bengal Assembly elections indicated a significant shift in vote share compared to the 2021 polls, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registering a sharp rise while the Trinamool Congress (TMC) seeing a notable decline.
According to Election Commission data, the BJP's vote share climbed to 44.93 per cent, up by nearly 6.8 percentage points from its 2021 tally of 38.15 per cent, while the TMC's share dropped to 41.51 per cent, down by over 6.5 percentage points from 48.02 per cent in the last Assembly elections.
