Mumbai, Sept. 9 -- Arun Patil, a former MLA of the Sharad Pawar faction from Raver, today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with several of his supporters.

The induction program was held at the party's state office, where BJP State President Ravindra Chavan welcomed him. Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, MLA Amol Jawale, and other party leaders were also present.

Chavan said that under the "dynamic leadership" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the country and state are witnessing rapid development. He added that it was a "matter of joy" that Patil, who was elected twice from the Raver constituency, had rejoined the BJP.
