Ashok RainaDharamshala, Aug. 21 -- Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and former union Minister Shanta Kumar on Friday welcomed the Centre's decision to permit establishment of a bench of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in Ladakh, noting that it would improve access to justice for people living in remote regions.

Shanta Kumar said timely access to justice was essential and denial of timely justice also amounted to injustice. He congratulated the people of Ladakh on the decision, noting that residents of the far-flung region would now find it easier to approach the High Court.
