Palampur, Nov. 17 -- Former Chief Minister and former union Minister Shanta Kumar on Monday lauded the Himachal Pradesh Government for launching a major campaign against drug abuse. He said a powerful programme was recently organised at the Ridge in Shimla where Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu pledged to make Himachal Pradesh completely drug-free.
"I wholeheartedly congratulate the state government for this extremely important decision," he said. Shanta Kumar warned that drug abuse, especially synthetic drugs like chitta, is destroying the younger generation. "Drug traffickers are earning crores while pushing the youth towards devastation. Today, this is the most serious crisis in Himachal Pradesh," he said.
