Kalyani, Jan. 24 -- Riding on a brilliant bowling performance led by veteran Mohammed Shami, Bengal inched closer to a comfortable victory against Services in their Ranji Trophy Elite match at the Bengal Cricket Academy, here on Saturday.
After posting a massive 519 in their first innings, Bengal bowled out Services for 186 to bag a big lead.
Following on, Services, in their second innings, were 231/8 at stumps on the third and penultimate day still trailing by 102 runs.
Bengal remained just two wickets away from a big win ahead of the fourth and final day.
Shami (5-51) ripped apart the Services batting line-up in their second innings while Mukesh Kumar (2-42) and Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal (1-27) also impressed.
