Dhaka, Aug. 6 -- Bangladesh's former cricket captain and ex-MP Shakib Al Hasan's ancestral home in Magura was targeted in a petrol bomb attack and vandalised on Wednesday night, just hours after he appeared alongside former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during a virtual press conference, according to media reports.

The attack occurred at around 8.45 pm at Shakib's residence in the Keshabmore area of Magura town. Unidentified miscreants allegedly hurled a petrol bomb at the house before vandalising the property. No casualties were immediately reported.

The incident followed Shakib's virtual participation in a press conference organised by the Foreign Correspondents' Club in New Delhi, where Hasina addressed the media from exile.
