Kolkata, May 28 -- union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday praised the rapid transfer of land to the BSF for border infrastructure projects in West Bengal and lauded Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari for completing the process far ahead of schedule.

"Congratulations to the BJP government in Bengal and Shri @SuvenduWB for fulfilling in just 7 days the promise to provide land for border fencing in Bengal within 45 days," Shah posted on his X handle (formerly Twitter).

According to officials, the state government has so far handed over 142.79 acres of land to the Border Security Force (BSF) for setting up border outposts, barbed-wire fencing and related infrastructure along the India-Bangladesh boundary.
