Aichi-Nagoya, Sept. 25 -- Manush Shah and Diya Chitale ended India's wait for another Asian Games mixed doubles table tennis medal, securing bronze after a spirited campaign that saw them knock out the world No. 4 pair from Hong Kong before running into the formidable Chinese combination in the semifinals here on Friday.
The Indian eighth-seeded pair went down 8-11, 5-11, 8-11, 2-11 to China's Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha in the last four. Their semifinal appearance, however, guaranteed them bronze as the Asian Games mixed doubles competition does not have a bronze-medal playoff.
