Dubai, Sept. 10 -- Shafali Verma's explosive 64 off 40 balls and a disciplined bowling effort propelled India into the Women's Asia Cup 2026 final as they defeated Bangladesh by 40 runs in a dramatic first semifinal at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium here on Thursday.
Shafali, who was adjudged Player of the Match, smashed seven fours and three sixes to help India post 149 for six in 20 overs before India's bowlers restricted Bangladesh to 109 for seven.
The match, however, was marked by a series of dropped catches from both sides, with Shafali particularly benefiting from Bangladesh's fielding lapses.
