Chennai, Aug. 16 -- Expressing deep shock over tonnes of fish being found dead and floating in the Kosasthalaiyar River at Ennore estuary, PMK President and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss on Sunday attributed it to discharge of chemical effluents into the sea and demanded a detailed probe into it.
Stating that fishermen in Ennore area in the Northern suburb of Chennai have been shocked and deeply concerned about it, Anbumani, in a statement here, said foul smell emanating from the dead fishes has engulfed in the area, raising concerns about spread of infectious diseases.
