Bengaluru, June 13 -- The Karnataka High Court has dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) challenging the State government's decision to allot four acres of land from the Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) campus at Hebbal for the construction of official residences for High Court judges, observing that several judges are currently living in rented accommodation due to a shortage of official housing.
A Division Bench comprising Justice D.K. Singh and Justice T.M. Nadaf upheld the government order dated January 8, 2026, transferring seven acres of land from the Veterinary College campus, four acres for judges' residences and three acres for a super-speciality hospital.
