Patna, Sept. 13 -- Several major rivers in Bihar continued to flow above the danger mark at various locations on Sunday, though water levels were receding at most places. Discharge from major barrages also declined, even as the Water Resources Department expressed concern over the rising level of the Punpun and warned of increased erosion risks as floodwaters recede rapidly.
The department directed officials to maintain close vigil over embankments and vulnerable stretches and to immediately report any abnormal developments.
