Mulugu (Telangana), Aug. 30 -- In a major breakthrough, seven members of the banned CPI (Maoist) party, including four women, surrendered before Mulugu District Superintendent of Police Dr Shabarish P on Saturday, opting to give up violence and return to the mainstream.
The surrenders took place during an awareness programme jointly organised by Mulugu district police and CRPF battalion under the theme "More than war, more than home - come back to our home." The initiative highlights the rehabilitation and welfare measures being extended to tribal communities by the Telangana government and the police department.
