Agra, Sept. 5 -- Agra police today busted a gang running a fraudulent overseas job racket, arresting seven members for allegedly duping unemployed youths by promising lucrative jobs abroad.
The arrests followed an in-depth investigation by the Hari Parbat police and a surveillance team. Police seized a large cache of fake e-visas, forged government documents, and bogus appointment and call letters from the gang's possession.
The gang, which operated under the fake company name "S.I. Overseas" from the Satyam Complex in Sanjay Place, reportedly used social media to post fraudulent job advertisements. The main accused, Ankit Gupta, who was previously arrested in Delhi for a similar offense, allegedly operated a bogus job consultancy.
