Shimla, Oct. 31 -- In a setback to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Himachal Pradesh High Court today granted bail to Police ASI Pankaj Kumar in the ongoing probe into the mysterious death of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) Chief Engineer Vimal Negi.
The single bench of Justice Varinder Singh (Court No. 7) allowed the bail application of Pankaj Kumar, who was in judicial custody after being arrested by the CBI on charges of tampering with a pen drive connected to the case. The court had earlier reserved its order on the bail plea after hearing detailed arguments from both sides.
