Purulia, Nov. 5 -- In a pioneering digital initiative, the South Eastern Railway's (SER) Divisional Hospital in Chakradharpur has achieved a major milestone by enabling the same-day issuance of birth certificates and Aadhaar enrollment for newborns, the first such achievement by any SER-run hospital in the country.
The facility was launched last Sunday at the Chakradharpur divisional hospital, located in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district - a state where such an integrated service had not been introduced before, an SER official said.
