Hyderabad, Sept. 7 -- The Congress today said its proposed September 15 meeting at Kamareddy to celebrate the Telangana Legislative Assembly's resolution facilitating the implementation of a 42 per cent job quota for the backward classes would be historic and send a significant message to the Centre.

The state Legislature recently passed a resolution lifting the 50 per cent ceiling on reservations, which paved the way for increading reservations for the backward classes in the local bodies.

A preparatory meeting for the rally was held during the day in Kamareddy under the chairmanship of TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud.
