New Delhi, July 28 -- Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Tuesday said India's constitutional democracy derives its strength from institutions performing their respective roles while respecting each other's constitutional mandate, as he addressed a batch of 45 trainee judicial officers during a visit to the Delhi Legislative Assembly.

The interaction was organised under the Assembly's Youth Outreach Programme and attended by Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, former Lok Sabha Secretary General P.D.T. Acharya, Principal Secretary (Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs) Reetesh Singh, and Assembly Secretary Yumnam Arun Kumar.

Addressing the trainees, Gupta said the principle of separation of powers does not mean "institutional isolation"...
