Kolkata, Sept. 27 -- The Centre has appointed senior judge Justice Sujoy Paul as the acting Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, replacing Justice Soumen Sen, who has been promoted to Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.
The union government today cleared the appointment of Calcutta High Court Justice Soumen Sen as the CJ of the Meghalaya High Court.
"In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Soumen Sen, Judge, Calcutta High Court, to be the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office," the notification said.
