Lucknow, Nov. 11 -- The Lucknow district administration has heightened the security measures across the city following the explosion that occurred near the Red Fort in Delhi.

The police, along with a Dog Squad, are conducting vehicle checks in the Hazratganj area.

ACP Aliganj, Sayed Areeb Ahmad, said on Tuesday that the city has been placed on high alert, and extensive checking drives are underway.

"Lucknow district is on high alert following yesterday's incident in Delhi. We are conducting checks at various strategic locations in the city. Vehicle checks are also being conducted. We are urging the public not to pay heed to any rumours. We are also monitoring social media," he said.
