Siliguri, Aug. 21 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday described union Home Minister Amit Shah as "the Chanakya of modern India" and said that the security of West Bengal was closely linked with the security of the country, particularly because of the state's strategic location and its proximity to the international borders with Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
Addressing a programme of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Siliguri, where union Minister Amit Shah was present, Adhikari praised Shah for taking major steps to strengthen the country's border security.
He said Shah had worked on the path shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and had taken several important measures to protect the country's borders.
