Imphal, March 19 -- Security forces and Manipur Police carried out a series of successful operations across the state on March 17 and 18, 2026, leading to the arrest of multiple militants, extortionists, and drug traffickers, along with the seizure of arms, narcotics, and other incriminating items.
On March 17, security forces apprehended an active cadre of a militant outfit from Thoudam Laishram Leirak under Thoubal Police Station. Two 7.62x39 mm live rounds, a mobile phone with SIM card were recovered from his possession.
On March 18, an active woman cadre of an outfit was arrested from her residence. In a separate operation on the same day, another cadre was arrested from Imphal East.
