Imphal, Nov. 7 -- Security Forces have intensified intelligence-based combing, cordon and search operations across the state to apprehend individuals involved in extortion and othercriminal activities.
During one such operation conducted on Thursday, an active cadre of an underground outfit was arrested from Imphal West district.
According to official sources, the arrested individual was allegedly involved in extorting money from brick fields, furniture shops, and members of the public.
The team also recovered two mobile phones and an Aadhaar card from his possession.
