Kolkata, June 7 -- : Security cover for five Trinamool Congress MLAs from Birbhum has been enhanced amid ongoing political turmoil within the party and a wider reduction in security arrangements for several TMC leaders across West Bengal.
According to district administration sources, the security of Birbhum MLAs Chandranath Sinha, Rajendra Prasad Singh, Mosharaf Hossain, Bidhan Majhi and Kajal Sheikh has been increased in recent days.
The move has attracted political attention as all five legislators are among the 58 TMC MLAs who backed Ritabrata Banerjee's elevation as Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, defying party supremo Mamata Banerjee's directive.
