Hyderabad, Aug. 26 -- The State Election Commission (SEC) today initiated the process for conducting elections to Panchayat Raj institutions in Telangana, expected to be held in September.
State Election Commissioner I. Rani Kumudini issued a notification for the release of polling stations and final voters' lists for the Gram Panchayat elections. As part of the schedule, draft voters' lists will be displayed at Gram Panchayat and Mandal Parishad offices on August 28.
District election officers have been instructed to hold meetings with representatives of political parties at the district level on August 29, while Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) will meet party representatives at the mandal level on August 30.
