Bhubaneswar, March 9 -- The implementation of seasonal hostels in Odisha's Kalahandi, Balangir, and Nuapada districts, infamous for distress migration, has led to a significant drop in the exodus of children who used to migrate with their families, thereby impacting their learning outcomes.
Replying to a query by BJP MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed this in Lok Sabha on Monday.
In addition, the Odisha government has established residential seasonal hostels to address the issue of school-going children migrating with their parents to distant places in search of better livelihood opportunities, said the Minister.
