Kathmandu, Sept. 16 -- A joint search and rescue team, including foreign personnel, recovered four bodies on Wednesday from inside a tunnel at the Chilime Hydropower Project in Nepal's Rasuwa district, where people had been trapped since the Bhotekoshi flood on August 26.
The team had been using an excavator and loader airlifted by helicopter to Syafrubesi to clear debris and create an approximately 1,050-metre access route to the tunnel by breaking through rocks.
During the debris removal, rescuers found water flowing from inside the tunnel about 70 metres from the entrance. They entered through the opening and searched to around 130 metres, but rising water had reached the upper section of the tunnel, preventing the excavator from opera...
