Vijayawada, Sept. 6 -- The works for the construction of a protection wall to protect villages from sea erosion has begun.

Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan has taken the initiative to construct a protection wall to protect villages from sea erosion with technology from IIT Madras.

The protection wall will be constructed at a cost of Rs 322 crore, and the National Disaster Management is extending the fund. A five-member IIT Madras delegation conducted a survey of the seabed and coastal areas using state-of-the-art technology to design and prepare the DPR for the construction of this protective wall.
